Therma-Tru Doors Introduces its Smooth-Star® Craftsman Style Door, Fiber-Classic® Mahogany Collection and 5'0'' Retro Patio Door Collections

Maumee, OHIO, (January 20, 2009) ― Even in these trying financial times, homeowners don’t have to sacrifice style, elegance and durability in choosing a new front door or patio door. Therma-Tru Doors introduces three new door styles that offer architecturally sound details, sophisticated design, improved energy efficiency with superior insulation, and the durability and reliability of fiberglass.

“Regardless of the homeowners’ remodeling budget, they never lose the desire for a beautiful, welcoming home that has great curb appeal,” says Derek Fielding, product manager for Therma-Tru Doors. “These three new door styles answer the need for economical doors that will last and enhance any home’s appearance.”

Smooth-Star Craftsman – It’s All in the Details
Featuring the clean, straightforward lines that are the hallmarks of craftsman architecture, the new Therma-Tru Smooth-Star craftsman style door is both classic and modern, adding distinction to other craftsman design details throughout a home. Whether it’s used as a garage-to-house door to accent the home’s architecture or to complement other craftsman style doors from the Therma-Tru Classic-Craft® American Style Collection, the new door provides homeowners with an affordable and architecturally beautiful option without sacrificing style.

Echoing the simplicity, understated and straightforward style found in bungalow homes of the early 1900s, the Smooth-Star craftsman style door includes an optional four block dentil shelf that enhances the style.  Adding to the Smooth-Star door’s distinctive craftsman style is its choice of decorative glass options that allow homeowners to personalize their door. The doors are offered in the new Brookside, Sedona Art and Saratoga glass designs, plus 2-lite 3-lite, 4-lite and clear low-E glass, adding to the energy efficiency of the entry. Homeowners can create even greater visual impact by adding 10-inch, 12-inch or 14-inch sidelites to the doors available in standard 6'8'' and dramatic 8'0'' heights. The doors are also available in an opaque fire-rated version, retaining the craftsman look while providing up to 20 minutes of protection against a spreading fire.

Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection – Rich Look and Feel of Hardwood
Therma-Tru’s revolutionary Fiber-Classic door changed how doors were made when it was first introduced more than 25 years ago, and still sets the standard for today’s fiberglass entry doors. Building on this standard of innovation and quality, Therma-Tru is expanding the Fiber-Classic Family to include the rich look of mahogany grain. Once reserved for Therma-Tru’s premium lines, the Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection replicates the rich look and feel of mahogany hardwood, but with all of the advantages of the Fiber-Classic line.

The Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection doors will be available in the new Craftsman style with new Brookside, as well as Sedona Art and Saratoga, decorative glass styles. Therma-Tru will introduce additional architectural door styles throughout 2009, including 3 panel scroll, 6 panel and 8 panel Miami styles. These upcoming Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection styles will be available with Blackstone, Sedona, Salinas and Wellesley decorative glass designs.

Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection doors contain composite top and bottom rails, ensuring the doors are rot resistant, and include LVL stiles to improve the overall structural integrity. Solid engineered lock blocks ensure added strength and increased security. And, when installed as an opaque door, a Fiber-Classic door serves as a 20-minute Positive Pressure fire door. Therma-Tru’s Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection maintains all of the benefits of fiberglass with a Limited Lifetime Full System Guarantee.

5’0” Retro Patio Door Collection – Makes Replacement Easier
Therma-Tru’s architecturally correct lip-lite designed  Retro Patio Door Collection offers a durable and reliable hinged patio door that fills a 5'0'' rough opening.
